The third book I’ve read by this author (links to the other 2 are given below). It covers some new topics – polyominoes, palindromes, symmetry, factorials, cycloids, pythagorean triples – as well as repeating some from the earlier books (the Koenigsberg problem, fractals, paradoxes). The language is aimed more at teenagers this time, rather than the younger children catered for by the earlier books. But the big improvement is that the author has included far more activities, including an entire section of puzzles, games and tricks at the end. These turn the book into something that can be explored rather than just read. Some of the strategy games are particularly interesting, and will give all KS3 teachers some ideas for activities and investigations.
